“We are back,” Tom announced gleefully, “and with some good news. We are happy to announce the glow-in-the-dark condoms are not the balloons being used to make animals for the children.”

“Did we actually think they were?” Jenny asked.

“The clown refused to comment, either way,” Tom answered. “But... I understand the mayor put in the appropriate calls and we can make the official announcement... and so all is well with lovefest preparations once again.”

“Another wonderful win for this year’s festivities,” Jenny stated. “I, for one, am extremely excited about all the exceptional possibilities which have been quickly arising.”

“Was that possibilities or eligible bachelors?” Tom smirked. “Or perhaps possibilities of what you might do with eligible bachelors... all of them... at the same time?”

“In other news, I have begun taking lessons at a firing range,” Jenny blurted out. “One never knows when a gun might come in handy.”

“True that, Jenny. True that. A chronic dater, such as yourself, can never be too safe,” Tom mused.

“Mm-hmm.” Jenny’s lips remained firmly clenched together. “Or when pesky problem makers might need eliminating.”

“Right you are again, Jenny. Right you are,” Tom agreed. “I have a gopher or two in my backyard and a water gun isn’t cutting it. They seem to like being sprayed. That’s sprayed, not spayed. I doubt they'd enjoy the latter very much. It’s also quite expensive.”

“This might be a good time to break away for thirty minutes of non-stop music,” Jenny said. “Don’t forget to call in your requests.”
